243 years ago the British and American armies met on the field of battle here in Camden. For the second time in four months and three days, the Southern Continental Army was lost. How did this happen? Could it have been prevented?
Rick Wise will kick off our week of events surrounding the Camden Burials by the South Carolina Battleground Preservation Trust by taking us through the Battle of Camden and what happened that fateful day on August 16, 1780.
Light refreshments to be served and time for questions after the presentation.

In addition to our permanent exhibit, the center hosts programs on the American Revolution, South Carolina's colonial era, and colonial Camden. Our programs focus on all the people who lived and fought during the American Revolution.
