Event description

Description

Speakers Joe & Embry Howell, travelers

Due primarily to Embry’s wanderlust, the Howells have been world travelers. Embry plans the trips and Joe tags along. Over the course of their marriage of 54 years they have visited some 50 countries. In 2015 Embry got the idea of traveling around the world without flying. This turned into a four-month adventure traveling by train across Europe, central Asia and China and crossing two oceans by ship. They will present slides and talk about what goes into a journey like this and the surprises and insights they learned along the way.

Read more about the Howells and future Tuesday Talks here. This event is part of Tuesday Talks, a monthly speaker series featuring some of Cleveland and Woodley Park's most fascinating residents. Brought to you by the Cleveland Park Business Association, the Cleveland and Woodley Park Village, and the DC Public Library.
