August 18, 4:00 pm. The subject is “Costumes Can Deceive: Gone with the Wind, the Movie” and the speaker is Lynda Meyer, owner of Lynda’s Antique Clothing Loft in Adams. A long-time expert on the history of fashion, she will unveil the fact that most of the celebrated costumes created for GWTW are not stylistically authentic. The speaker will demonstrate on mannequins the true styling of late 19th century fashions and from the standpoint of Hollywood’s viewpoint the fascinating deceptions of GWTW costumes.
