Novel Writing:  Soup to Nuts with Stacey Barney (Putnam/Penguin)

Novel Writing: Soup to Nuts. A comprehensive overview of novel writing devices with an eye to making your novel shine.

Stacey Barney is a Senior Editor at Penguin/Putnam Books for Young Readers. She acquires middle grade, young adult and select nonfiction and picture books. She has edited the #1 New York Times bestselling The Wrath and the Dawn, a sumptuous retelling of Arabian Nights by Renee Ahdieh as well as the 2015 Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award-winning Firebird by Misty Copeland and illustrated by Christopher Myers. Stacey also has the pleasure of editing award-winning authors Kristin Levine (The Lions of Little Rock), Tara Sullivan (The Bitter Side of Sweet) and Sarah Dooley (Free Verse). Recent and upcoming publications Stacey is excited about include New York Times bestselling The Reader by Traci Chee, a sprawling, stunning fantasy set in a world where reading is unheard of; and Our Chemical Hearts, an irresistible story of first love and the heartbreak of unrequited love and City of Saints & Thieves, an enthralling murder mystery set in Kenya. Stacey is looking for rich and memorable stories with pacey plots and writing that sparkles and shines
