Description

The Self, a Mask-Making Workshop for Professionals

Instead of spending 100’s of dollars on a costume and drinks, do something different and spend Halloween with an intimate group of like-minded professionals going inward to explore, discover and honor the different masks we wear through expressive arts!

People often don’t realize that they put on masks when interacting with others. The masks reflect the many roles we take on with family, friends, colleagues and strangers, each serving a purpose. There are thousands of masks we wear, sometimes all within one day!

The process of creating and then wearing a mask allows us to expose parts of ourselves that we are not usually willing to embrace in everyday life. Or, in contrast a mask can act as a protective shield from our true feelings. Or, we could simply be trying on a different persona and allowing our imaginations to run wild!

In this workshop we will explore some of the masks we wear that get in our way of moving forward in our lives and begin to uncover the true self.

What we’ll cover:

- Introduction to masks.

- Interactive exercises to help identify the masks we wear.

- Guided visualization.

- Mask Making with different materials

- Practices to identify and move beyond personas that block us.

- Learn how to implement what you’ve learned about self into daily practice.

- Affirmations and a closing ritual

Masks are a universal art form that generally evokes power, magic, and mystery for both those who wear them and their audience. Come explore your inner wise self, through mask creation and expressive arts!

What others are saying:

Fantastic! Empowering! Great meeting all of these wonderfully inspiring women! Jeanette L.

Kori's art nights are the perfect antidote to a stressful week. Not only was it wonderful to reconnect with my creativity, it also reignited my motivation to pursue a particular goal I 'd been too afraid to go after. I left feeling inspired, confident and with a greater sense of peace. - Jessie F.

No waiting till tomorrow! Kori's art nights help me to identify my goals clearly. She encouraged me to manifest the necessary action steps for moving forward right away. It felt empowering to connect with a community of women who all aspire to make their dreams become reality! - Stephanie A.

I have felt energized and very optimistic since the art night! I'm keeping up with daily meditation and have my watercolor painting and affirmations out where I can see them. - Elizabeth R.

I thoroughly enjoyed Kori’s workshop. I left with a sense of purpose and clarity in my next steps moving forward with my career and personal development. I would recommend Kori to anyone who seeks to understand themselves better, and to have someone who cares for your success in different realms. -Anat C.

I found it therapeutic and energizing to break away from the workday! It's interesting how my painting's evolution can metaphorically represent the progress that I made in just one week and also representative of the evolution of self within life. - Robin C.
