Tavern Tales SD: Create Your Character - Monday, July 21, 2025
July will be our first back-to-back programming nights. This brand new Create Your Character event kicks off the week where you can create your very own character with the help of our awesome TTSD volunteers. Your D&D character(s) can then be used to participate in Tueday, July 22's Find Your Party event. Tickets for that event are sold separately here:
Create Your Character is designed as an at-your-pace character creation night where participants can make one or more D&D 5th Edition and/or Daggerheart characters. We will have volunteers on hand at multiple tables to walk you through character options and help you adapt your character concept to either rules systems. Even better, once your character(s) are approved, they are eligible for use in all D&D or Daggerheart Find Your Party encounters in the future. Whether you attend as a brand new solo player or come as an entire homegame group, this event is designed to help you fully realize your Player Character (PC) and familiarize yourself with their abilities and mechanics before you get to play with them. This event will be hosted by Little Bird Brewing (formerly Thorn St. Brewery) in North Park! All blank PC sheets as well as writing utensils, reference books, and dice will be provided, so grab your ticket, bring along your character ideas, potential party members, and come ready to craft your next PC to save the world. As with all Tavern Tales SD events, we will have amazing prizes donated from our collaborating partners.
Frequently asked questions
No prior experience is necessary. This event is designed to walk new players through all steps of character creation at a slower pace. All gaming materials are provided and each participant will leave with very their own approved character and enough knowledge to use it in future games.
All you need to bring is your ID (this is a 21+ event with alcohol present) and your ticket or QR code for entry. Reference books, blank character sheets, pencils, and dice will all be provided.
Participants have the option to make either a level 2 character for 5th Ed 2024 Dungeons & Dragons or a level 1 character for the Daggerheart system. The D&D Character will be eligible for use during the July 22 Find Your Party Event; Daggerheart characters will be usable in our August FYP event.
The NPC patio will still be available as a quieter space for attendees to use as needed. However, this event will not have the fast-paced timing of our other events so attendees should find the atmosphere more free-flowing and helpful to brand new players.
