The 2019 Colors of Jewishness events are made possible by the generous support of Bader Philanthropies.

Anthony Russell is a vocalist, composer, and arranger specializing in Yiddish song whose solo work has brought him to stages across the United States, Europe, and Israel. Anthony’s work in Ashkenazi music led to an exploration of his own roots through the research, arrangement, and performance of traditional African American music. The result is the 2018 album Convergence, a collaboration with renowned klezmer trio Veretski Pass, exploring 100 years of African American and Ashkenazi Jewish music. In 2017, Anthony and accordionist and pianist Dmitri Gaskin formed a duo, Tsvey Brider (Two Brothers), for the composition and performance of new songs in Yiddish. Tsvey Brider has been featured in Berlin’s Radical Jewish Culture Festival, toured Poland, and performed for culture and music festivals all over the United States.
