Truth be Told ~ A Fundraiser for Dazzle Africa and The Ever Forward Club
Sat, April 29, 2017, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM PDT
Save the Date! April 29th, IT IS ON!
Back by very popular demmand, this years Truth Be Told event will be a good one!
Last years Truth Be Told event was a huge success and together we raised over $4000 that went towards the following:
- Supporting and funding the one local wildlife Veterinarian that covers thousands of miles of Zambian wildlife animals after they have been caught in a snare wire.
- Supporting the highschool entreprenuer and mentorship program
- Sponsoring 5 local students - Edith Banda, Joy Banda, Fitzgerald Mukumbi, Likando Maimbolwa, & Margaret Phiri
- One sponsored Bore Holes (water tower) -which will provide over 300 families clean water daily.
On a personal note, my two week journey to Zambia brought with it ithe deepest peace that I have ever felt. I finally slowed down, unplugged and got quiet and as a result found some real insight about what I want to bring to the world, my daughters, my family and myself. Many thanks to all of you were cheering me from the sidelines while I took that important trip. My commitment is to hold one Truth Be Told fundraiser a year and to continue to offer a venue for being real, getting conected and making a difference for beings (animal or human).
This year, along with Dazzle Africa, we have added an incredible non profit to be one of the recipients of your fundraising efforts....The Ever Forward Club.
This Truth be Told Fundraiser is a unique night that will inspire and connect you to yourself, to others and to the greater community.
Please, join us for a unique evening of stories, humor, reflection and inspiration.
The format is simple:
This night's event will feature 6 Bay Area people (mothers, fathers, local community members, artists, teachers, givers, warriors of the heart) each with a 10 minute personal and inspirational story to share.
It could be humorous, insightful, creative, moving or all of the above.
The impact is great:
Stories are what bring us together.
It is what our ancestors did that facilitated our ability to carry their legacy and legend into the present.
They are the thread that can connect two complete strangers and deepen the bond between two lovers.
Through levity through depth we gain understanding and reach more places of connection.
In a time when our communities and our world is threatened by the possibility of becoming divided, it is essential that we find ways to slow down and spend time together, laugh, listen and be inspired.

Information on the Recipients :
Dazzle Africa--Founded by 6 strong women, Dazzle Africa is a Philanthropic Safari company whose focus lies in Education and Conservation Efforts in the country of Zambia. Dazzle Africa has helped brilliant young Zambians attend university and has been rewarded by their passion and commitment to turning this gift into strong results. Our conservation efforts have netted very important advances in our mission against poaching activities in Zambia. Just one of those wins, is the hiring of a full-time veterinarian in South Luangwa. Dr. Sichande, who is saving animals from snaring traumas and other injuries endured due to poaching.
Mission: We are a group of passionate humans from all over the world choosing to make today the day we make a difference for future generations. www.dazzleafrica.org
At The Ever Forward Club, we believe that all young men have the desire to be fully alive –– to be loved, respected, held in high regard, held to high expectations, held accountable for their actions and supported to help achieve their goals. But too many young men –– particularly underserved and at-risk young men of color –– have been forced to hide their dreams and hopes within them. They think they have it all figured out. They don’t, and it’s no secret why.
Founded in 2004, the Ever Forward Club mentors young men of color in middle and high school by providing them with safe, brave communities that build character and transform lives. We specifically serve teens who are:
Under-schooled: Have very little to no experience being a part of the school community and are therefore academically, socially or emotionally behind their peers;
De-schooled: Have been going to school regularly, but have become either disengaged, disillusioned or disenfranchised and therefore stopped attending or are only physically present;
Over-schooled: Have gone to school for years but are more worn out by school, than energized by it.
Mission: To create communities of young men who are setting and achieving their personal goals inside and outside the classroom while becoming Social Emotional Leaders(SM) in their communities.
Building Character. Transforming Lives. While helping young men turn their War Stories into Medicine Stories.
