Event description

Description

During the symposium, criminal justice and law enforcement scholars and reform advocates will convene for discussions on how police oversight entities can better serve civilians. Panels will focus on building confidence in the police complaint process, bridging the gap between communities and oversight entities, and using data—including body-worn camera footage—to increase transparency in the police oversight process.

Keynote speakers and panelists will be announced soon. This event, sponsored by the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Office for the Advancement of Research, is free and open to the public.
