Description

About the Project:

The Theater Offensive's True Colors: Creative Action Crew (CAC) is the proud recipient of the National Performance Network/Visual Artists Network's (a professional network for visual and performing artists) Creation and Development Fund. This fund is awarded to artists who will tour new work to national audiences.

This December will mark the culmination of the CAC's five month effort to create a new work that explores the LGBTQ youth-of-color experience(s), then and now, through intergenerational interviews. Since July 2017, the CAC has conducted dozens of interviews within the Boston QPOC community with folks ages 18 to 71 that produced more than 40 hours of deeply moving, vibrant, and relevant stories.

About the Show:

Created from a multi-disciplinary approach, audiences will witness three generations worth of first loves, legacy, personal growth and community building. This innovative performance fuses live music, movement, and original spoken word to uplift one driving question--what is important to pass onto the next generation of LGBTQ youth-of-color to ensure their future shines bright?

Together with sexual orientation and gender, this show sits at the intersectionality of identity challenging audiences to see anew the LGBTQ youth-of-color experience(s).

Please join us December 15 + 16 (7PM) for a staged reading premier.
