Troop 766 HACAP Volunteering (1/29)

About this event

For Troop 766 Scouts only!

Come help build family food boxes or backpack food bags at HACAP (1515 Hawkeye Dr in Hiawatha) on January 29th! We'll have two 2-hour shifts (8:00 - 10:00 am and 10:00 am - noon). Scouts will earn service hours!

Details:

1) Wear a Class B t-shirt/sweatshirt (if you have one).

2) Max of 10 Scouts/adults per shift.

3) Must wear a face mask while volunteering.

4) See HACAP rules below.

HACAP Safety Rules:

The HACAP Food Reservoir and mobile pantries are working food distribution models,because of this, food safety and your personal safety is important to us. The followingmeasures must be followed at all times while volunteering:● Please wear closed-toed shoes, no sandals or flip flops allowed.● Be sure to leave all bags, purses, and valuables in your vehicle. HACAP does havelimited storage for smaller items such as phones, wallets, and watches.● No long or dangling jewelry● No eating or drinking in the warehouse● Smoking on HACAP property is not permitted● Pre-existing medical conditions that would restrict a person from performing anyphysical activities must be reported before volunteering with HACAP.● If you are experiencing a current food-borne illness diagnosis or any of thefollowing symptoms, please do not report to your scheduled volunteer time: Fever,Vomiting, Diarrhea, Jaundice.● All people working with food and/or distribution must be in good physical healthwith clean hands and no broken/exposed skin.
