TRN 208 : OBIEE 11g Front End Development, Design, and Best Practices
At a Glance
Our OBIEE Front End Development course is an all inclusive series of training sessions and labs, developed in-house and delivered by one of Rittman Mead’s very own consultants. Whether a Business User or Developer, this deep-dive course takes a second look at OBIEE and offers insight into Rittman Mead’s own design philosophy and seeks to extract additional value out of an already extremely versatile tool. Allow the experts at Rittman Mead, who’ve amassed countless hours of experience in analytics across many different industries to help your team discover all the available possibilities in OBIEE.
Attendees will participate in a course that offers valuable use cases and real-world business concepts in analytics. Each lesson takes participants through a lab designed to instill concepts of best practices, thoughtful analysis design and our own aesthetic philosophy. Going beyond the ‘click’, the Business Enablement course will empower participants with contextual cues around each decision and step needed to produce the finished product. From designing a basic Web Catalog to finally producing your own Executive Dashboard, our course content represents the tried and true methods of Rittman Mead.
Visualizations and Design
While the finished labs will produce an array of available visualizations, the tool fails to supply the “why” for the choices made. Attendees will learn to pick visualizations based on the story the analyses are trying to tell. They will learn visualization techniques designed to enhance the user experience by drawing on the know-how of Rittman Mead consulting, as well as industry design experts like Stephen Few and Edward Tufte.
This course is designed for the Analyst to Executive level user. While we will be utilizing the Sample Sales data set throughout the course, participants will find that the techniques and principles they inherit will easily translate to any industry. Those new to the tool will establish a firm foundation upon which to further develop their skills and those with a little more experience will find that they’ve gained additional insight into a trusted resource.
