Event description

Description

This trip is for students in the current cohort of ENGL207 British Romanticism module at Lancaster University.

Please meet at 8.30am at the underpass in Lancaster University on Saturday 3rd March. We'll be picked up by coach and travel to the Lake District, where Professor Simon Bainbridge will take us on a Wordsworth Walk (see http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/english-literature-and-creative-writing/about-us/public-engagement/wordsworth-walks/) and we'll visit William and Dorothy Wordsworth's home, Dove Cottage, the museum, and see some of their work in its manuscript form.

We would strongly recommend a waterproof jacket (and waterproof trousers if you have them) and sturdy walking shoes or boots, though we will be walking on paths and in dry weather training shoes will be fine. The walk is approximately two miles long with some ascent but there will be regular pauses for poetry readings.

Lunch will not be provided. Please make sure to bring a packed lunch with you.

We will leave Grasmere at 3pm for a return trip to Lancaster University campus.
