Event description

Description

In his State of the State address and release of the executive budget for New York, Governor Cuomo has moved New York from a walk to a jog on climate – but what we need is an all-out sprint.

Join members of the NY Renews coalition on a trip to Albany on Tuesday, February 27 to demand Governor Cuomo commit to funding an equitable transition to 100% renewable energy by making corporate polluters pay for the damage they're doing to our health and our planet.

We'll be having a People's Hearing, concurrent to the official executive budget hearings, to call on Governor Cuomo to pass the Climate and Community Protection Act for 100% renewable energy and to implement a fee on big polluters to fund the transition. Then we'll march to Governor Cuomo's office to give him a giant $7.1 billion check--the exact amount he's leaving on the table by failing to commit to a climate polluter fee.

This is a critical opportunity to put direct pressure on the Governor, raise our profile in Albany, and lift up our campaign in the media. Plus, everyone who comes will get an NYRenews Tshirt. See you on February 27th!

Here are your options for getting there, please book the ticket that applies to you.

From NYC: bus leaves at 6:15am from near Penn Station, returns at 5:30pm

From Buffalo: bus leaves at 3am, returns at 5:30pm

If you coming from somewhere else, please RSVP to indicate you'll be joining but not by bus, and meet at the State Capitol at 9:00am.
