Description

Trio Anima Mundi presents their eleventh subscription series - Wanderings - in 2018. Each concert in this 3-concert series showcases an Australian composer. Alongside these works, Trio Anima Mundi continues its 'Piano Trio Archaeology' mission of presenting rarely-heard works from the piano trio repertoire as well as works of the canon such as Dvorak and Mendelssohn. **FOR SUBSCRIPTION TICKETS PLEASE SELECT Sunday 18th March**

Aligned to International Womens Day held in March, Concert 1 - Sunday 18th March - present the works of three women, Fanny Mendelssohn (Piano Trio in D minor), Rosalind Ellicott (Piano Trio No.1 in G), and Melbournian Katherine Rawlings (Bloom).

Concert 2 - Sunday 10th June - showcases the transcriptions of Melbourne-based composer Tom Henry and juxtaposes these with works by the sources of his inspiration, Felix Mendelssohn (Piano Trio No.2 in C minor) and Johann Sebastian Bach (Chaconne).

Concert 3 - Sunday 28th October - looks at trios which have an underlying musical narrative and features Ian Munro's first Piano Trio - Tales from Old Russia - alongside Antonin Dvorak's 'Dumky' Trio.
