Sports is not just about winning a game. Developing character, moral values, and emotional health are as equally as important as strengthening physical health. At Trinity, Coach Urban and the entire staff of the Athletics Department prepare student athletes for their life journey. Come hear how Coach Urban, former NFL wide receiver, develops relationships with his “guys” and motivates them by leading by example. He emphasizes the importance of preparation for games, rather than superstition or rituals.

Bring your questions and ideas for a spirited dialogue.

A Conversation About Continuity and Change –

150 Years of Branding and Marketing Trinity University

Monday, February 4, 2019 | 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Dinner included)

Paesano’s, 3622 Paesanos Parkway, San Antonio 78231

Doug Brackenridge, Professor Emeritus, author of a history of Trinity University, and Professor J. Charlene Davis, Chair, Department of Business Administration, will discuss various ways in which Trinity has endeavored to articulate and visualize its unique institutional mission in different geographical, cultural, economic, and educational contexts. Long before terms such as branding, marketing, target audiences, competitive advantage, and positioning, became commonplace, educational institutions have been engaged in “selling their product” in a highly competitive environment. Utilizing insights from different disciplines coupled with illustrations of a variety of promotional efforts, Davis and Brackenridge offer a distinctive approach to a sesquicentennial celebration. Group questions and comments are welcomed.
