Tributosaurus becomes The Doobie Brothers

By Theater on the Lake

Overview

Start the New Year right—join us with Tributosaurus!

Which Doobie you be?
Does your musical soul get moving via the bellowing vibrato of Michael McDonald on ‘Takin’ It To The Streets?’ Does Tom Johnston’s high tenor optimism perk your ears up as you ‘Listen To The Music?’ Or does the rootsy mysticism of Patrick Simmons drown you in ‘Black Water’?
If any and all of those songs speak to you, you need to be with Tributosaurus for our New Year’s Eve celebration, sensibly scheduled for Friday January 2nd at Theater On The Lake. You will dance and sway with joy.
New Year’s Eve itself is often so chaotic in the city that we, and perhaps you, find it to be a lovely stay-in-TV night. So we’ve continued the tradition of a weekend show around the date, and will ring in 2026 in Doobie Brothers style.
70’s California folk, mixed with country and a splash of electric guitar arena rock drove the band early on, and the hits were plentiful. When Johnston’s health problems forced them to find another lead singer, Michael McDonald walked in the door as a fully formed rock star ready to roll. His funky soul transformed the band, and Yacht Rock classics emerged alongside massive radio hits that still get tons of play.
The Doobie Brothers have been an absolute mainstay on the radio with good reason. Their song catalog adds up to an incredible collection of uniquely American rock and roll, spanning many genres and subgenres.
Let’s enjoy this wonderful stuff together in communal celebration of 2026 to come.
