About the organizer
Born Dominic Smith in Boston, Massachusetts, The Black Bon Jovi started his entertainment career after his aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. As her primary caretaker, he would often say, “Hold on, Auntie. You are halfway there.” This is when Smith’s aunt coined the name The Black Bon Jovi, referring his comforting words to the lyrics of the Bon Jovi song “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
After the passing of his aunt, Smith decided to take his nickname and his passion for helping those afflicted by cancer and start his own movement. Along with his donations from the sales of “Cancer Survivor,” Smith is challenging big-name artists like Soulja Boy and iHeartMemphis to become a resource in the fight against cancer.
If you would like to donate to support the cause or purchase the official Anthem “Cancer Survivor,” visit www.thecancerkillas.com.
