Event description

Description

We're pleased to announce that the cast of Showtime’s “The Circus” — John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon — will be our guests at this year’s TribFeast, in conversation with Tribune CEO and co-founder Evan Smith!

We’re excited to have this sharp trio of political observers join us. They’ve been all over the news of the day for years — Heilemann and Wagner as reporters, McKinnon as an operative and strategist, all three as network and cable talking heads. In the new season of "The Circus" — now airing — their collective experience and wisdom is on display in a big way, and at precisely the moment we need context, analysis and insight the most. There is no one better and no series better to take us inside — per its tagline — the wildest political show on earth.

McKinnon was a longtime senior adviser to the George W. Bush and John McCain presidential campaigns and was vice chairman of Public (now Hill+Knowlton) Strategies, the global public affairs firm. Wagner is an anchor and correspondent at CBS News, a columnist for The Atlantic and author of a new book “Futureface." Heilemann is a national affairs analyst for NBC News and MSNBC and the co-author of the best-selling books "Game Change" and "Double Down."

This third annual dinner to support nonprofit journalism will take place on Friday, Sept. 28 — smack in the middle of Texas Tribune Festival’s redesigned schedule.

We hope you will join us for the best TribFeast yet. Proceeds benefit our ambitious, award-winning work. It will be such great night with a room full of thought leaders and philanthropists from across the state, including elected officials and other big names on the festival program.
