Come tour the almost-certified LEED O+M v4 Talley Student Union at NC State in Raleigh, which is anticipating certification by this event date. The building was originally certified LEED Silver under the LEED Building Design and Construction system when it opened in 2015. An interdisciplinary class of NC State students recently led the groundwork on gathering data to certify the building through the LEED Operations + Maintenance v4 system. This makes Talley the first building at NC State to become LEED O+M Certified, as well as the first O+M certification in the UNC system. Did we mention it's also the second O+M certified Student Union in the country?
Hear from Talley leadership, the University Facilities Division, the building design team (including Duda Paine and Stanford White), and LEED Lab students about the design and operations of the student union building, covering topics from design to maintenance to the LEED Dynamic Plaque platform. The session will begin with a 45 minute presentation and discussion, followed by a 45 minute tour of the facility. Registration for the tour will be capped at 30.
Just as exciting, Talley Student Union will be showcasing the LEED Dynamic Plaque, or ARC platform. This interactive tool uses real-time data collection to continuously track building performance relative to the benchmark on a daily and monthly basis, illustrating Talley's performance in all LEED categories.
**Join us at 3:30 for a campus celebration to unveil the LEED Dynamic Plaque!
This event is independent from the Talk-N-Walk.
