Event description

Description

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Kelly Madden for an evening walk to learn about the history of the Metolius Preserve and the Camp Sherman area. Wander the southern portion of the Preserve to explore ponderosa pines, larch, fir, and other trees that grow in this fascinating part of Central Oregon. The Metolius basin boasts a unique combination of wetter plants and trees from the west side of the Cascades along with the drier eastern Cascade vegetation. We will explore all that it has to offer. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.

Hike Rating: This is an easy ~2-3 mile walk on established trails.

What to Bring: Snacks/lunch, water, closed toe shoes. Dress for the weather.
