(Ruffed Grouse Project)

Have you ever hunted ruffed grouse or wanted to learn more about this animal’s fascinating behavior? Then join us as students from the Ruffed Grouse Project at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Student Wildlife Chapter will present their research on ruffed grouse. The Ruffed Grouse Project currently uses Treehaven to study ruffed grouse for four weeks during the spring. Researching being conducted at Treehaven includes trapping and radio collaring the birds, studying drumming log selection, estimating home ranges of male ruffed grouse and understanding how topography effects ruffed grouse drumming log selection.
