Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Join us for a wonderful weekend gathering of community Tree Planting in collaboration with Landstory. The ambition is to plant 1500 trees to create new woodlands, hedgerows and agroforestry across the smallholding and in the process to grow friendships and community.

Planting trees and watching them develop is among life's most rewarding actvities and these weekends are fantastic way to get active outdoors, meet freindly faces and relax in a gorgeous coastal setting.

Between the planting there'll be delicious organic food, warm log fires, songs, dancing and plenty of chitter chatter. Time is also made for coastal walks, trips to the pub and for the hardy, surfing the wild Atlantic coastline.

For those interested in woodland management and planting there will be a short presentation describing the long term benefits of the planting plan, the design pricinples and tips on how to design and establish your own agroforesty system.

Come for the full weekend or just for the day, if you'd like to stay for the weekend then accommodation is available in stunning Geodesic Domes and cosy Log Cabins courtsey of Koa Tree Camp. You'll need to bring sleeping bags or sheets and bedding are available for a small charge of £5 per person. Day volunteering is free and includes lunch, tea, coffee and treats. For those staying in the accommodation we ask for a £15 donation to cover food, wood and other goodies. All proceeds go towards our wellbeing program, helping those struggling with mental illness through horticultural therapy.
