Description
Make a difference in a few hours that can last decades! ReLeaf Michigan, a non-profit tree organization, is planting 75 trees along the Sterling Relief Drain on Friday, November 1st, with the help of the City of Sterling Heights, Green Macomb, Macomb County and the US Forest Service.
This planting is part of a larger two-mile green infrastructure initiative in Sterling Heights to plant 5,000 trees and 12,000 shrubs in the Sterling Relief Drainage District, part of the Green Macomb Urban Forestry Partnership.
Park in the SW corner of the parking lot up the hill at Freedom Hill County Park. ReLeaf Michigan’s tree experts will be there to help volunteers and oversee the event. Families welcome! Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a shovel if you have one. Event occurs rain or shine (we’re a hearty group!). Light refreshments and lunch will be served. No planting experience necessary. We hope to see you there!
