Scott DeBoer


Scott DeBoer, RN, MSN, CPEN, CEN, CCRN, CFRN, EMT-P  is an internationally recognized pediatric emergency nurse expert.  Scott has been presenting to tens of thousands of nurses around the world for over 20 years.  In addition to his extensive training in emergency, transport, critical care, and flight nursing, Scott has authored 7 books and co-authored over 100 medical articles for nurses, paramedics, and respiratory therapists.  Scott continues to work PRN as a critical care transport nurse, ER nurse and also serves across the country to multiple law firms as an expert nurse witness.  Often called the “Jim Carrey” of the emergency nursing world, Scott's use of humor and personal experiences will have attendees laughing as they learn. 


Credit Hours

Credits are available for: Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs, and Respiratory Therapists.
(Physicians are welcome to attend, but CMEs are not available)

The process for submitting your contact hours is automated.  Within 7 days following the course, you will need to complete an evaluation and provide your licensure information.  Your course certificate will immediately be emailed to you as confirmation of receipt of your information.   ** We cannot submit your contact hours without this information ** Requests for certificates/CEUs after 7 days require a $25 fee.


Nursing - 6 contact hours for nurses - ENA code: 190315-IN2-CR-1. ENA has approved 6 Contact Hours Category of Clinical;  6 meet Pediatric requirements and ENA has approved 6 Contact Hours Category of Trauma.   This activity was approved by the Emergency Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

Is this event really free?

Your entire $99 registration fee is being paid for in full by The Queen’s Medical Center’s Trauma & Acute Care Surgery, The Emergency Department and The Department of Maternal Health, Perinatal & Pediatrics.

We do need you to register for a ticket to hold your seat.  Substitutions are allowed up to 72 hours before the class starts.  Please call or email Pedi-Ed-Trics 1-888-280-Peds(7337) or with the name and email address of the substitution.

Can anyone from anywhere come?

This class is open to all Queen's Medical Center medical personnel and outside attendees - TICKETS ARE FIRST COME!


Is parking available?

Yes, and $5 parking validation is available for parking at The Queen's Medical Center.



What time should I get to class?  What should I bring?

Registration/sign-in begins at 8:00 A.M. and class will begin at 8:30 A.M. sharp. Bring a light sweater or jacket as room temp can fluctuate. Also, if possible a phone/email copy of printed ticket. This will make the check-in process go quickly. If you forget a copy.... do not stress out!  We will have you on the list. :)  


Will lunch or snacks be provided? 

Continental breakfast is generously being provided by Queen's Medical Center.  Lunch will be on your own.

How do I know if tickets are still available for this program? 

Class size is limited and are on a first come basis. If you are able to add the correct number of tickets you need into the drop down, and the system processes, then seats are still available (you will get an immediate email ticket confirmation). If there are no tickets available, the class will show as SOLD OUT.
