Event Details

Treat Me like a Queen*, a 8 week program designed for today's teens girl.

Teen pregnancy, high STD rates, violent behavior and gang affiliation. These are just a few of the issues plaguing today's teen girls. Promiscuity, Drug abuse, Low-self-esteem, Absentee parents, and an overall, lack of positive emotional and social support may play a huge part in causing young women to become involved in violent and risky behavior.

In order to ensure a generation of emotionally and socially sound young women who make healthy life choices, there must be a system put in place that not only addresses the issues they are combating, but also provides alternative choices, supplement support and encouragement.

*Treat Me Like a Queen *is that system. This self-empowerment and creative expression workshop series was developed to remind young women of their royalty by providing a platform for love, support, and honest dialogue. *Treat me Like A Queen *comes with a long list of recommendations from some of the most respected institutions concerning youth in Chicago. The program was born at *Ada S. McKinley educational center *in 2005 and since then has merged with a number of elementary schools, high schools, colleges and non-profits to change the image of young when in the city.

*Treat me like a Queen implements* eight 1 and 1/2 hour work-shop sessions exploring the 8 essential attributes of a Queen.

Think Tank Foundation is an Non for Profit Organization geared towards reestablishing cultural ties in Urban Communities.

This is done by teaching youth ethnic pride and life skills that will better establish them as functioning members in society.

As a Nonprofit, Think Tank Foundation uses educational programming, assessments and rewards to effectively change the way children of color see themselves on a global scale. Our goal is to create a generation that is properly equipped with the skills, knowledge and self love necessary to become functioning members in the communities for which they came from.

That will consequently change those communities to becoming thriving members of society and therefore change the opportunities and outlook of the following generation.
