Integrated Architecture on Tour 2019

Hands-On Workshops

The Integrated Architecture on Tour (IAoT) workshops are a unique opportunity to get hands-on training with Rockwell Automation's hardware and software solutions. Each IAoT workshop is a self-paced hands-on lab designed to be completed in under 2 hours. Choose your time and which lab you want to work through. We'll have your workshop station ready for you when you arrive.

Take advantage of this FREE training opportunity. The tour will only be in Houston for three days and Pasadena for three days. Labs included cover EtherNet/IPandStratixnetworking, Drives, FactoryTalk View SE, Logix Controllers, PanelView 5000,and PlantPAx process solutions.

Station 1: Power & Motor Control Labs

Choose from:

L04 - Drives Configuration and Programming

Learn how to configure PowerFlex 755 & 525 AC drives. From the built-in human interface module, to the Connected Components Workbench software, or Studio 5000 Logix Designer, we can help enhance your user experience and reduce development time. Learn how Automatic Device Configuration can help save valuable time to get your machines back online faster.

L05 - Speed Integration: CENTERLINE MCCs, Studio 5000 Logix Designer, and IntelliCENTER Software

Experience the ease of integrating CENTERLINE Motor Control Centers (MCCS) with EtherNet/IP and their associated components — PowerFlex drives and E300 Electronic Overload Relays. Streamline your workflow by leveraging the simplified integration of IntelliCENTER software and Studio 5000 Logix Designer to simplify device configuration and reduce commissioning time and errors.

Station 2 & 3: PanelView 5000 Lab

L20 - Studio 5000 View Designer Featured on the PanelView 5000 Graphic Terminals

Learn how to increase productivity with Studio 5000 View Designer software and PanelView 5000. Topics include creating a new application, using built-in animation for graphic elements, configuring basic security, exploring runtime diagnostics, using Add-On Graphics and configuring runtime language switching. This lab will also cover new features such as data logging and historical trending, VNC, PDF viewer, and emulate.

Station 4: Micro800/CCW Lab

L30 - Experience Connected Components Workbench Software to Develop Your Basic Standalone Machine Application

This lab will guide you through the programming of a simple machine motor control application using the latest Connected Components Workbench software. The control solution will consist of a Micro800 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), a PanelView 800 graphic terminal and a PowerFlex variable frequency drive.

Station 5: Network Security Lab

L15 - Introduction to Network Security Lab

Learn the basic security functions to start optimizing security in your plant network. See how security features in managed switches, like port security, access control lists, and port thresholds, as well as specific capabilities of the Stratix 5950 Security appliance with deep packet inspection, can help mitigate potential security risks.

Station 6: Stratix Networking Lab

L14 - Basic Stratix Switch and EtherNet/IP Features in Converged Plantwide Ethernet (CPwE) Architectures

Learn how to integrate Stratix switches and EtherNet/IP devices into your plant network to improve reliability, manageability and overall ease of use. You will get familiar with Stratix 5700 hardware features, management and diagnostics tools such as the Device Manager, the Studio 5000 Add-On Profiles (AOP), the FactoryTalk View faceplates and see configuration and diagnostics of a Device Level Ring (DLR) Topology.

Station 7: Logix Labs

Choose from:

NEW for 2019 – L16 - Scalable Compute Hands-On Experience

This session will introduce and demonstrate the capabilities of our new scalable compute technology. You will get some hands-on experience using and configuring the Application Program Interface (API). Learn the power of Logix and Windows software together. The presentation will cover target applications, teaching the value provided by the features.

L17 - Studio 5000 and Logix Basics Lab

New to Logix programming or need a quick refresher on the basics? This session will provide an overview of the core capabilities that are offered in Studio 5000 and highlight the importance of good design practices. Mastering these fundamentals will help ensure a good design and prepare you for the advanced session.

L18 - Studio 5000 and Logix Advanced Lab

This advanced Studio 5000 and Logix lab will allow you to explore topics of interest and quickly see how capabilities add the most value to your design. By the end of this session, you will be on your way to becoming an expert.

Stations 8 & 9: Software Only Labs

Choose from:

L02 - Simplify Product Selection with Motion Analyzer, Integrated Architecture Builder and ProposalWorks while creating application code with the Device Object Library

See how Motion Analyzer, Integrated Architecture Builder (IAB), ProposalWorks, and the Device Object Library saves you time while providing a well-designed control system for a Vertical Form Fill and Seal machine with a standardized user interface for a PanelView 5000 graphic terminal.

L07 - Distributed HMI with FactoryTalk View Site Edition: Introductory Lab

Learn about the basic capabilities and features of a FactoryTalk View Site Edition application for both desktop and mobile in this hands-on lab. You will build a simple application from the beginning. Topics include creating an application, adding displays, working with tags and animations, basic alarming, trending, and mobility.

L11 Introduction to the PlantPAx Distributed Control System for Operations and System Engineering

Explore the PlantPAx DCS within a simulated plant environment through the eyes of an operator or system engineer. You will learn about navigating and interfacing with key system functions in a utilities and batch area, and how to execute simple configuration changes and add a new control strategy using the Rockwell Automation Library of Process Objects.
