About Stella Photi

Stella Photi combined her passion for preventative health with her extensive travel industry experience to create Wellbeing Escapes in 2005. This is when her quest began to make healthy breaks accessible and to offer down-to-earth objective advice on a wide range of wellbeing experiences. Wellbeing Escapes was a pioneering in the wellness space, and since then has inspired thousands of people to take a different type of holiday and has helped highlight wellness tourism as a serious segment in the mainstream travel market.

Quite the jet-setter, Stella has visited over 54 different countries and has tried well over 100 different treatments. It’s fair to say that Stella certainly knows a thing or two about wellbeing travel and has lent her expertise to many different media publications. She is also a regular contributor to the Huffington Post lifestyle pages.

Prior to starting Wellbeing Escapes, Stella managed Leisure Sales for a major U.S. airline in Europe and before then worked for major tour operators. She and her business partner left their jobs in 2001 and formed a consulting firm in the UK. This gave Stella the opportunity to fill a void in the travel and wellness market and to extensively research her dream to create a company that focused on people like her. Stella sees wellness as a journey that doesn’t have an end, but you need like-minded people to guide you. The journey is as personal as the music you listen to or the food you enjoy.

Stella lives with her family and Springer Spaniel Louis in North London. Wellbeing Escapes offices are located in Islington, London and it won ‘Best Specialist Tour Operator’ at The Telegraph Travel Awards 2016 and 2017.
