Learn how to implement current ACIP recommendations for common travel vaccines into clinical practice

About this Event

Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) for a discussion on updated travel vaccine recommendations. NFID Medical Director William Schaffner, MD will moderate the webinar with presentations by Wilbur H. Chen, MD, MS, associate professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, chief of the adult clinical studies section at the Center for Vaccine and Development, and director of the University of Maryland, Baltimore Travel Medicine Practice; and Dawn Balcom, DNP, APRN-C, nurse specialist at the University of Louisville.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the geographic epidemiology and clinical manifestations of certain pathogens encountered during travel
  • Summarize current Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations for common travel vaccines
  • Identify strategies for the implementation of recommendations into clinical practice

There is no fee to participate in this activity but pre-registration is required.
