Travel 101: Packing Matters

Let's face it - if you pack incorrectly you are either going to be bummed, miserable or buying a bunch of stuff when you should be playing!

October 4, 2017 - 6:45 PM – 8:00 PM

Whole Earth Provision Co.

2501 Post Oak Blvd

Houston, TX 77056

OR online at

Houston Outdoor LIVE - join us in person or check us out via Facebook’s new feature, Facebook Live. Both events run simultaneously and you can join the Q&A online or in person.

You’ll want to join us in person if at all possible because we have a very cool giveaway compliments of Whole Earth Provision, an Osprey 95L Transporter Duffle in sexy red!  Plus, we’ll have refreshments provided by Karbach Brewing Co. & snacks too.  The giveaway will be held this evening at the end of the presentation.

Traverse the Serengeti in style or Ease Through the Canyon

We’re totally in agreement with our girl, Helen Keller, who said

“Life is either a great adventure or nothing.”

What adventure have you planned for this year? Is it glamping in Africa while snapping photos of lions, hyenas and zebras (OH MY) on a safari across the Serengeti? Or, maybe you’re staying closer to home, backpacking the10-mile trail to the clear blue waters of Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon.

Whatever your journey, one thing we know is that you’re going to carry everything with ease! Forget something at home and you might find yourself missing out on all your trip has to offer or worse- you could find yourself up a creek without a paddle, literally!

That’s why we’re taking you to our favorite outdoor store to browse and talk everything you may want or need on your next big trip. Fun fact about Whole Earth Provision Co., these outdoor stores can ONLY BE FOUND in Texas, so call us biased, but Texas rocks!

Topics we’ll cover:

- Clothing and layering

- Accessories- scarves, hats, sunglasses and more

- Boots, trail runners and Chacos

- Gear, gear and more gear (backpack, hydration bags, purifying filters, hammocks, tents, etc.)

- Solar technology

- All the other new and amazing products out there you didn’t even know existed

Show up in person or watch live, and you'll also be able to download the free #10Essentials packing list for any trip that evening!

Don’t forget to sign up for this evening at the event for the drawing of an Osprey 95L Transporter Duffle (Red)

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Typically most BCO events are for adults.  But, we do love kids.  If you believe your child is capable of keeping up with the group, no problem.  AND if this is a bike ride they MUST wear a helmet.  Questions?  Contact us at

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

We add parking details to the Event descriptions.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

If the temperature is above 80 or it very clearly says "No Dogs" then please don't bring your dog.  We LOVE dogs and only make this rule if we feel there could be a safety concern (for the dogs of course:).

BIKE: If it is a bike ride: Bring a helmet or borrow one from us.  Helmets are the single most important piece of gear you can have on a bike ride.  Anyway, any time you are wearing a helmet you must be having fun!

Bring water.  Frequently our events are in the woods or out of the way.  Water is important.

HIKE: If it is a hiking event wear comfortable shoes.  Athletic shoes, hiking boots, running shoes, just be sure your feet will be happy.

SOCIAL: If it is a social event?  Wear whatever YOU feel comfortable in.  We are an eclectic mix of people with all types of interests and jobs.  People will come straight from work in a suit or jeans, straight from running or working out, and some of us even come cleaned up straight from the shower!  (and everything in between)

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? or 713-524 3567

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Can I update my registration information?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Printed ticket or download the EventBright app and bring it on your phone.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds up until 48 hours before.  Or, better yet, get some goodwill by sharing your ticket with a friend.  They will love you even more after all the fun they had at the BCO event!

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes - see love & friendship above!
