Event description

Description

How do we as people show up in our work? Why do we show up that way?

Youth and Parent engagement is about creating a collaborative relationship. Often, while building collaborative relationships with youths and adults, we find ourselves as stewards of other people’s trauma and of our own. Part of this trauma stewardship involves being attentive to and minding our own relationship to the work. This training builds on the concept of Trauma Stewardship as advanced by Laura Van Dernoot Lipsky in Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others and introduces those in the helping professions to the impacts of trauma on those who assist and witness.

In this training, participants will learn:

  • Trauma response and their emotional triggers

  • The importance of Energy Leadership

  • The benefits of reflective practice and reflective supervision

  • How to maximize positive energy using Be Strong Families' personalized energy assessment tool

Cost: $150 - Includes morning refreshments and lunch.
