About this event
Please join the Bay Mills Indian Community Police Department on August 2-3, 2021 for the Trauma-Responsive Investigation Training: the law enforcement officer training to serve victims of gender-base violence with strategies that are trauma-responsive, community-based, and individualized.
Topics and simulations include:
- Jurisdiction
- Dynamics of Violence
- Neurobiology of Trauma
- Victim Interviewing
- Free Recall and Review
- Overcoming Consent
- Report Writing
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration
In addition to conversation on these topics, this training will be interactive, allowing officers to practice these skills on the spot. The training will be led by two trainers: Dawn Davis and Suzanne Gray. Dawn Davis is a retired law enforcement officer, and Suzanne Gray is an advocate and trainer. Both trainers have years of experience working in and with law enforcement officers in the areas of intimate partner and sexual violence.
This free training will be held at the Bay Mills Resort & Casinos and is free for tribal law enforcement officers.
