Event Details

Trauma is rampant and pervasive in our society.  At least  70% of adults have been affected by trauma in the United States, alone.  Whether you're a coach, psychotherapist, Tantra teacher, hands-on healer, workshop facilitator, massage therapist or someone wanting a great relationship, the chances are high that you will encounter trauma with people in your life.  Most of us don't have the skills to identify trauma or know what to do when it shows up.  This workshop offers key tools to address moments of overwhelm associated with trauma.

During our day together, you will learn common fight, flight, and freeze responses in the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and will discover introductory skills for addressing dysregulation and reactivity linked to trauma.  We will explore neuroscience-based effects of trauma on the brain and beyond, as well as some of the impacts marginalized populations face as a result of institutional trauma.

This workshop covers:

  • Definition and sources of trauma

  • Physiology of the autonomic nervous system (ANS)

  • How to track people in order to assess if trauma is present

  • Specific resources and pitfalls to avoid when working trauma survivors

By the end of this workshop you will learn:

  • Simple and effective tools to manage the fight, flight, and freeze response

  • Practical somatic approaches to support trauma survivors

  • Tools to increase your ability to respond versus react

  • Basic strategies to increase your capacity to manage emotional stress leading to healthier, happier relationships and more fulfilling lives

Christine Donohue has 20+ years of experience dealing with trauma and is excited about empowering you with more tools to navigate the world.  This workshop includes demonstrations and experiential exercises providing participants with a deeper dive into trauma as well as practical skills to work with people who have a trauma history.

"I am so grateful for this important class.  I think it is essential for anyone in healing or self help fields.  Christine has been working with trauma for more than 20 years and it really shows.  As a trauma survivor, on my own healing journey for the past 15 years, Christine helped click so many things into place.  I loved her focus on the physiology and energetic practices giving us a balanced scope of the magnitude of this subject.  I learned easy to use exercises that deepened my understanding of trauma and how to assess whether someone is ready to explore their trauma.  As a hands-on Tantra practitioner and educator understanding trauma better is an important skill.  I am so blessed she is a resource for us in the Bay Area.  Christine is an enthusiastic teacher who combines vulnerability and knowledge to impart a solid foundation to trauma survivors and those wanting to support them.  I highly recommend this class and am looking forward to continuing to learn more from her."

~ Caroline Carrington, Certified Tantra Educator,

"Christine is a lively and clear presenter and is passionate about trauma work. She clearly knows her subject very well and can offer understanding of behaviors that are a result of trauma.  She has useful tools to share about how to manage trauma response."
