Description

Learn what trauma is, how it impacts us personally on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Learn how we can foster compassion towards ourselves cultivating sensitives within our practice, as well as how we can be more informed as teachers within our sequencing, cuing and adjustments.
Yoga, meditation and mindfulness are incredible tools to help manage stress and to heal trauma that has become stuck in the body.
If you have experienced trauma, work in a setting where trauma is present, or just want to be more informed in your teaching this workshop is for you.
Join Natalie Guevara, ERYT-500, YACEP, CPT and Certified Life Coach for a deep dive into this important topic.
During this workshop we will discuss and learn specific techniques to create a truly healing experience and develop tools to cultivate resilience for yourself and for your students.
Friday evening, and throughout the Throughout Saturday and Sunday we will dive deeper into the whats and whys of a trauma informed teaching perspective.
Trauma is showing up in our yoga classes more and more each day. Stand apart and stand for something by upleveling your perspective, teaching, sequencing and cuing into healing.

Course Objectives and Outcomes:

Saturday morning- We will learn the basics of what trauma is, how it shows up within the body and the goals of yoga in healing. This will have an experiential focus on self-regulation techniques within the yoga practice for individuals to decrease the effects of trauma and cultivate resiliency.
Become more resilient, more connected within the body and develop an understanding of trauma and learn to develop an at home healing practice for yourself.
Come prepared to practice and journal.

Saturday Evening Session-
Discussion and lecture of the neuroscience of yoga and trauma.
Discussion of the mind/body connection and how trauma shows up within the physical body and energetically.

Sunday Morning Session-
Techniques to develop a connection with the mind and body.
Yoga principles, practices and tools to connect with the body and facilitate healing and resiliency.

Sunday Evening Session-
How trauma shows up within public group classes.
Hands on assist and modifications.
Sequencing for healing.

Investment:
$300 (scholarships available)

15 hour CEUs for Yoga Alliance Teachers and certificate of completion.
300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training credit through K10Yoga (register at www.k10yoga.com)
for 15 workshop hours for 200 hour yoga teacher trainees.
