Event description

Description

The Nancy J. Cotterman Center will be hosting the NCA's sponsored workshop on Informed Responses to the Effects of Trauma.

Trauma can have both short and long-term effects on individuals, families, communities, and the professionals serving them. A trauma-informed approach is necessary in order to provide effective services that support trauma workers and improve functioning for clients. This workshop will explore the basic research on trauma, the holistic effects, and how agency operational issues can oftentimes unintentionally hinder trauma-informed care. Interventions at the individual and agency-level will be explored to help CACs address trauma in sensitive, effective ways.

Presenter: Andrea Raasch, LCSW, State Clinical Coordinator for Sexual Abuse Treatment Programs

CEU's will be offered for CNS, RN, LPN, ARNP, LCSW, LMFT, and LMHC

Parking available at Governmental Center Parking Garage, 151 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
