Event description

Trauma Informed Care Training

Trauma Informed Oregon (TIO), is excited to host our 21st community forum! We hope to share what
we have been doing & hear what you have learned &/or need.

We offer a free training in the morning to increase access to information & follow this with the forum in the afternoon. Please come to one or both – & bring colleagues, families, & community members.

This registration is for the Morning Training which focuses on how organizations can change policies and procedures to promote engagement & retention for both the service user and staff using the science of adversity.

Participants will learn about:

  • What trauma-informed care is (& is not)
  • The impact of adversity & toxic stress on providing, accessing, & engaging in services
  • How service systems, unknowingly, may re-traumatize/activate survivors of complex trauma
  • The principles of TIC & examples for implementing into organizational policies & procedures
