Description

This is workshop focuses on strategies and interventions based on the Trauma Informed Care approach. It is ideal for anyone who works with children and youth of all ages. The workshop is hosted by the Kids Thrive! Collaborative, in sponsorship with The United Way of Charlotte County.

Dr. Mimi Graham from Florida Center for Prevention and Early Intervention Policy at FSU will lead the workshop. The workshop will provide a brief overview of the principles of Trauma Informed Care and the research of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES). It will delve into ways each one of us can put these principles into practice, in all sectors of our community. Dr. Graham will also address the "what next" - developing a Trauma Informed Community and system of care.

Registration begins at 8:30 am - with the workshop starting promptly at 9 am.

A box lunch will be available.*

CEU's through the Florida Certification Board upon request.




*Please note: This workshop is open to representatives of organizations outside of Charlotte County. However, due to funding arrangements, participants or representatives of organizations outside of Charlotte County will need to pay $10 (cash) at the door for the box lunch. Anyone preferring to bring their own lunch, is welcome to do so - just indicate this in the appropriate box when asked to designate your box lunch type. While a vegetarian option is available, participants with special dietary restrictions will need to provide their own lunch.
