Description

In order to deliver compassionate and culturally competent care, providers and healthcare staff should be able to recognize trauma and its effects on their patients' mental and physical well-being. Learn from subject matter experts about trauma, where it comes from, and practical ways to implement trauma-informed care in your practice. This free event will also highlight:

  • Prevalence of trauma in San Diego
  • Science-based research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Tools, models, & best practices for trauma-informed care

Participants will also learn how to refer Medi-Cal patients with trauma to behavioral health services. Training content is aimed at staff in a variety of clinical settings, including physicians, nurses, PAs, medical assistants, front office staff, social workers, and any staff working in a provider office.

This is a free event presented by the Healthy San Diego Health Education and Cultural/Linguistics Workgroup and Rady Children's Hospital.

CEUs: Kaiser Permanente is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 00788 for 2.0 contact hours.
