Trauma-Informed Care: Advanced Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training
Participants of this course are required to have taken the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training. During this training, participants will develop an understanding of critical concepts specific to trauma-informed care and the resulting implications for the Crisis Development model. We will examine the influence of trauma on behavior and offer strategies that foster resilience and help youth develop self-regulation and other coping skills.
This training will review personal safety techniques but will NOT teach physical restraint techniques. Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and bring water.
As seating is limited, priority registration will be granted to current staff of the District’s LEAs.
