JSSA Training Institute is pleased to announce training on working with those that are impacted by both Trauma and Dementia - 3 Category I CE'a provided for this training

The presentation will cover a 21st century update on various aspects of the neuro-cognitive disorders including various clinical presentations of dementia, diagnosis and the specific treatment.

The presentation also will focus on the link between traumatic experience and neurological, neuro-psychiatric disorders and also preventing aspects including neuro-cognitive health(diet, exercise, yoga, mindfulness and cognitive stimulation tasks)

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will learn about anatomy , biochemistry and clinical aspects of Brain pathways responsible for emotional experience and traumatic experiences.

2. Participants will learn how trauma , chronic stressful events can lead to neurological and neuropsychiatric and neurocognitive disorders.

3. Participants will learn how to approach patients suffering from Neurocognitive Disorders complicated by premorbid exposure of traumatic events and Various management strategies.

About the Trainer: Nicole Absar, MD

Dr Absar is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She is also a member of the American Medical Association.

She has practiced behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry in Massachusetts and in Maryland. She served as the teaching faculty at Harvard Medical School, the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Tufts Medical School and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

She is a registered yoga teacher and utilize yoga as a modalities for Cognitive Rehabilitation. She is a National Yoga Alliance certified educational provider for specialty yoga for brain disorders.
