Join us to learn about the basics of trauma
Welcome to Trauma 101!
Trauma 101 is an introductory presentation designed to help participants understand what trauma is and how it can affect the mind and body—often in ways we don’t consciously recognize.
Trauma does not only result from extreme events; it can also come from experiences that overwhelm a person’s sense of safety, connection, or control.
This session explores how trauma can show up in everyday life through patterns such as anxiety, irritability, emotional numbness, difficulty concentrating, people‑pleasing, avoidance, or feeling “on edge.” Many of these responses are unconscious survival strategies, not personal weaknesses.
By increasing awareness and reducing stigma, this presentation helps participants reframe trauma responses with compassion and understanding.
