Description

Trap Door Dining, a dynamic pop-up dinner series held seasonally by chef Kenny Seliger, is continuing in Orange County with its Summer Dinner. Ingredients are locally-sourced and presented in a storytelling manner. Seliger hand-crafts every detail and the ingredients are never repeated more than once on the tasting menu with the exception of oil, salt and pepper. Trap Door dinners are meant to bring people together to appreciate thoughtful dishes, good conversation and unique settings.

The Summer Dinner's seven-course tasting menu, with a theme of "Fire + Grain", will be as locally-sourced as possible and will feature dishes comprised of California-grown ancient grains and various forms of local seafood. All food bound for the dinner, will be cooked over fire - either on a grill, or in cast iron.

The dinner will include all rosé wine pairings from boutique wine labels. A private residence in Laguna Beach, CA, will serve as the stylish backdrop for this dinner - which will only be served one evening, and will only accommodate 24 guests.

cooked three ways, california lemons, raw summer squash, farmer’s market salad greens, lettuce root dressing

FOURTH COURSE

kamut risotto + sea urchin //

kamut risotto, roasted tomato, radish oil, radish greens + California sea urchin

FIFTH COURSE

polenta + prawns //

California painted mountain corn polenta with grilled California prawns, wild flowers

SIXTH COURSE

organic lentils + scallop //

black + red lentils, grilled scallops, charred corn, arugula, roasted spring onion cream sauce

SEVENTH COURSE

dessert cereal //

naked oats, farm-fresh California goats milk, pickled unripe blueberry, fresh blueberry, lightly grilled strawberries

Pricing is $125.00 per person for the seven-course tasting menu, including wine pairings. Sorry, no diners under 21 years of age. All sales are final. Reservations are transferrable to others, but no refunds are available at this time.
