Event description
The team that brought you the industry's first virtual conference is back again for another virtual incarnation of TransportationCamp PHL!

About this Event

When we announced that TransportationCamp PHL 2020 would transition to TransportationCamp Virtual, we thought it'd be a fun one-off event as a way to break up the pandemic.

Here we are a year later.

In the time since, countless other conferences have been virtualized, and we've been glad to support our fellow regional TransportationCamp conferences in adopting the virtual model.

Now, we're bringing back the model we pioneered last year, with another great virtual event at the intersection of transportation, technology, and urbanism.

Whether you work in the industry or simply have an interest, we welcome you to join us online for a day filled with ideas. As always, the participant-driven TransportationCamp conference series follows the “unconference” format, lending itself to a more pertinent, thought-provoking, and active event.

Organized by passionate Philadelphians in conjunction with the Philadelphia chapters of Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) and Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), and Drexel University’s Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation, we look forward to seeing you… so clean off that webcam!

We are also planning the first-ever TCPHL Summer Gathering, an optional outdoor extension of the virtual conference focused on urban exploration and an open-air happy hour as weather improves and restrictions lift. Details TBD.

A DRAFT schedule is below, but is highly subject to change. All times will be Eastern Time.

  • [9:30am-10:00am] Optional "coffee" and Networking
  • [10:10-10:40am] Welcome, Introductions, Session Proposals
  • [10:45am-11:30am] Session 1
  • [11:40am-12:25pm] Session 2
  • [12:30pm-1:30pm] "Birds of a Feather" Lunch
  • [1:35pm-2:20pm] Session 3
  • [2:30pm-3:15pm] Session 4
  • [3:15pm] Afternoon Hangout

First Time at a TransportationCamp?

  • How To TransportationCamp: The folks at MobilityLab have taken the time to put together a TransportationCamp 101 guide that explains all aspects of the event.

  • Participation Encouraged: Sessions are formed as the day goes on, so be sure to come with topics for discussion. If you have an idea, feel free to share and add your thoughts.

  • Rule of Two Clicks: Never hesitate to leave a session if you suddenly find it’s not for you, or if there’s another session that you want to check out, too!

  • Dress Code: TransportationCamp is a very casual event. Although you might be inclined to dress up for a conference, your best attire is your coolest transportation tee shirt!

Want a better sense of the vibe? Check out last year’s photo gallery and session schedule and from our inaugural year (2018 Photos2018 Sessions).

Organizing Committee

TransportationCamp PHL is organized thanks to a collaborative effort between YPT, WTS, and Drexel's Lindy Institute. Passionate about transportation and bringing the conference to Philadelphia, the conference's co-chairs span a diverse array of subsets in the industry with professional experience in both public and private transportation operations, transportation planning, and logistics consulting. For additional breadth, the conference has a larger working group whose collective knowledge and expertise spans all facets of the industry and includes all levels of transportation involvement (ranging from career professionals to engaged hobbyists).
