Get excited for the SJCOG 2018 Speaker Series! The May 2 event’s focus is transportation technology and innovation.

Attendees will hear from University of the Pacific’s Center for Business and Policy Research (CBPR) as they discuss emerging and maturing transportation technologies and their potential effect on local and state transportation policy. CBPR will examine current trends in transportation technologies, highlighting recent transportation planning and policy changes adopted by California's Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and other state policies with significant impacts on transportation, such as the California Air Resource Board’s (CARB) goal to have California’s entire transit system transition to zero emission busses by 2040. This policy overview will be complemented with data on trends in state and national greenhouse gas emissions, electric vehicle adoption rates, and related statistics on artificial intelligence and automation technologies in transportation.

Later, hear from a local tech company based out of the Port of Stockton, First Priority Greenfleet, as they talk about their experience with electric vehicle and ultra-low emission vehicles. Attendees will hear from Robert Lupacchino, chief operating officer of FPG, a diversified manufacturer, dealer, upfitter, and service provider of emergency and specialty vehicles. First Priority GreenFleet seeks to revolutionize the national, private and public commercial transportation industry by meeting the demand for Zero and Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles and lead the effort to: reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and public health, and promote the social, environmental, and economic well-being of their customers and communities.
