Event description

Description

Matt Wallack discusses how to transition your career across industries by using your transferable skills and networking. The second half will discuss how to explain resume gaps and job changes when interviewing.

Matt Wallack began his career in 2006 as a permanent recruiter for a New York City startup under the umbrella of a larger, national firm. In May, 2018 Matt decided to start his own firm, helping make connections between his clients and candidates. Throughout the years, Matt has made connections in the corporate world, staffing accounting positions for many Fortune 1000 companies. During the recession of 2009/2010 he was instrumental in placing over 100 temporary financial analysts for a large project within a financial information data company that resulted in not only a successful project, but also a chance to place people during one of the hardest job markets. Matt attended the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT and graduated with a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from New York University. He supports many philanthropic organizations, including the Coast Guard Foundation, St. Jude’s, Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association. A life-long New Yorker, he currently resides in New York City with his rescue terrier Kaylee.
