This event is supported by the ERASMUS + Programme of the European Union. More info:

Strategic Partnership for the Establishment of an Innovative Approach in Workplace Management Education” project.

The content of the event is the sole responsibility of the organizers and can under no circumstances be regarded as reflecting the position of the European Union.

As in recent decades humans have shifted from being a production factor to human capital, workplaces are not seen anymore as physical sites, but as a resource central to organisations’ value creation.

This shift brings the management of workplaces in the fore, starting from aligning workplace design with organisational strategy and employee needs and preferences, through effective alternative workplace strategies to managing the workspace and workplace services efficiently.

This increasing complexity requires that workplace managers have a comprehensive knowledge from design to workspace management and evaluation, as well as organisational stakeholders speak a common language to bring down organisational silos.

For this purpose, between 2018 and 2021 six European universities have developed a comprehensive course on workplace management, funded by the ERASMUS + programme of the European Union and have carried out a research among 200 European companies to explore the current state of workplace management in different European countries.

Please find more information on the project:

This event will...

  • Present the views of leading industry and subject matter experts on the future of workplace and workplace management,
  • Present the results of an international survey on workplace management based on the responses of 200 European companies,
  • Foster the dialogue between stakeholders, such as academic researchers, architects, facility managers, real estate professionals, human resource managers about how these organisational functions can collaborate to create better workplces, and importantly
  • Present a comprehensive framework on workplace management, as well as a new, university course in the subject developed by European universities.

The event will be followed by similar, interactive events in the future and the organisers hope to create a community of returning participants.

The event is organised by the SPACE project (lead partner: University of Győr, Hungary) in professional partnership with the Transdisciplinary Workplace Research Network and the Workplace Evolutionaries Community of IFMA.
