A conference for parents, self-advocates and professionals about transitioning from high school to life after high school, including work, college and adult living. Content primary focused on Santa Clarita area schools and services.
Is there a cost to attend this conference?
No, this is a free conference hosted by Sen. Scott Wilk, and sponsored by the Family Focus Resource Center and Advanced Behavioral Pathways. However, pre-registration is required.
Who should attend?
This event is for:
- Parents or caregivers of individuals with disabilities who are age 14 or older (parents of younger children may attend in order to get prepared for transition)
- Professionals who work with indiviiduals with disabilities
- Students age 14 or older who have an interest in the subject matter
Can children attend?
No childcare is provided. You should register your student (14 and up) if they will attend.
Can I attend for only part of the day?
Due to demand for seats, we ask that you check in by 10:00am or we may give your seat to someone else.
Is Spanish interpretation available?

How is the conference different than the Transition Fair?
The Transition Fair will take place from 9:00-11:30AM. It is free and does not require registration. Registration is required for the Transition 2 Independence conference.
