This training outlines the foundational ideas that explain the differences between sexual orientation and gender identity. Through an experiential curriculum, participants will explore the topics of transgender identities, gender justice, terminology, etiquette (e.g., correct pronoun usage), laws/policy advocacy, and myths and stereotypes for transgender-identified youth.
The goal of the training is to gain comfort talking about transgender issues and explore how these issues apply to Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming youth in their communities. By the end of this 3-hour training, participants will gain a toolbox of interventions that will assist them in helping transgender youth with the care, compassion, and legal protection they deserve.
