Teacher: Hugh Byrne
This workshop/retreat will incorporate elements of a traditional mindfulness/insight meditation retreat—including periods of silent sitting and walking meditation—and will also include inquiry into how we can use mindfulness skills and practices to transform unhealthy habit patterns.
We will explore five central themes:
- Understanding habits and how mindfulness supports change
- Harnessing the power of intention
- Building the ‘muscle’ of attention
- Developing attitudes that support habit change
- Bringing it all home
Practices will include periods of reflection, exercises to identify habits that don’t serve, small and full group sharing, questions and discussion, along with periods of meditation and movement.
Participants must select accomadation type in addition to program fee. This is a residential retreat.
Note: this is a weekend workshop residential retreat and will not be primarily silent; however, there will be significant periods of silent meditation. Please do not arrive before 3pm on Friday as there will be another group leaving.
Registration is transferable but registration must be changed at least two days before the start date of a retreat. Cancellation more than sixty days before event start is refundable minus a $75 administrative fee. Cancellation sixty days to thirty-one days before event start date will be refunded at 50% of total cost. Cancellation thirty days or less before event start date is non-refundable but a credit of 50% of total cost will be issued that may be applied toward a future Weekend Sabbatical retreat. No refund is available if you cancel on your arrival day, if you don't show up, or if you leave a program early.
There is a 20 dollar fee for unreturned keys.
