Event description
Transforming Public Health: Learning From the Past, Preparing for the Future | Institute for Public Health Annual Conference

About this event

As the pandemic continues, how do we recognize the value of public health for the future? How do we prepare our public health infrastructure for future emergencies? Can we strengthen public trust in our health leaders and processes? In what ways can we align healthcare systems and fortify infrastructure, so that they are ready when we need them most?

According to a 2020 poll, "More than 7 in 10 Americans believe public health plays an important role in the health of their community."

Join the Institute for Public Health on October 27, 2021 for this popular and informative hybrid event! Hear from nationally recognized guests including Leana Wen, MD, an emergency physician and visiting professor of health policy and management at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health; contributing columnist to The Washington Post and a frequent medical analyst on CNN.

The conference will consist of panel sessions on topics including equity in vaccine distribution here and around the globe, efficiencies (and inefficiencies) in "vertical" (disjointed) health systems, and other important issues. Each panel will include an audience Q&A session.

This is a hybrid event with opportunities to attend virtually and in person.
